Championship Golf Around Puget Sound
The Puget Sound area may be one of the most championship starved regions in the United States.  With only one major to it's credit in the last 15 years, the people in this area can't wait to host both the 2010 US Amateur and the 2015 US Open.

So now is your chance to play the courses that will host these great championships, as well as the area's other top golf facilities.

Golf Club at Hawks Prairie

Last Updated Dec 2008

The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie consists of two distinct, public 18-hole golf courses:  The Woodlands and The Links (formerly Meriwood and Vicwood, or "The Two Woods").  Opened in 1995, The Woodlands (Meriwood Golf Course) spans 415 acres with narrow fairways meandering through dense forest, and is consistently ranked in the top 10 most challenging courses in the state.  A fourth set of tees was added in 1998 to offer a more manageable alternative for high-handicappers.

Woodlands

The Woodlands was the first of two distinct championship courses built at The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie.  With fairways lined by dense, old-growth forest, the course stretches from 5600 to 7170 yards depending on which of the four tees you choose.

Ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "Top 75 Most Affordable Golf Courses," The Woodlands is acclaimed for its definitive Northwest features, which include sprawling fairways that meander through tall-timber, idyllic ponds and wetlands, and expansive, multi-tiered greens.

The Links

Built in 1999, the addition of The Links turned The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie into one of the Northwest's most unique 36-hole golfing facilities.

Much like its sister course, golfers will find The Links to be true to its name.  Stretching out to the mouth of the Puget Sound, this Scottish-style links course offers something for every player, with 5 sets of tees and water on 9 of 18 holes. Fairways framed by beautiful views of Mt. Rainier and the Puget Sound are just a few of the memories you’ll take away from The Links.
